Festival International de Carthage — opening night
The 60th International Festival of Carthage opens on Saturday 4 July with two concerts at the Théâtre Antique de Carthage, kicking off a summer programme of music and performance at one of Tunisia's most storied outdoor stages.
The International Festival of Carthage returns this summer for its 60th edition, and the opening night falls on Saturday 4 July. Two concerts are scheduled at the Théâtre Antique de Carthage — the UNESCO-listed Roman amphitheatre on the Carthage hillside, roughly 15 km north-east of central Tunis — with the first show starting at 21:00 and the second at 22:00.
Tickets for the opening-night shows start from 30 TND, rising to 40 TND depending on the concert and seating category. Tickets are available via teskerti.tn.
The festival runs through the summer, with performances continuing into August across the Théâtre Antique and other venues. The full season programme spans music, theatre and dance.
Founded in 1964, the festival has over six decades brought together Arab, African and international artists to the ancient stage overlooking the Gulf of Tunis — from Oum Kalthoum and Fairuz to James Brown, Stromae and Youssou N'Dour. The 60th edition is billed as an anniversary celebration of that breadth of programming.
