NOR.BE live at Dougga with the Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona
Guitarist and composer NOR.BE brings more than 70 musicians to the UNESCO-listed Roman theatre of Dougga on Sunday 5 July for a single night of original works fusing classical, rock and jazz, as part of the Festival de Dougga.
Guitarist and composer NOR.BE performs at the Théâtre Romain de Dougga on Sunday 5 July, in one of the most ambitious concerts programmed at the ancient site in recent years. The show brings together more than 70 musicians, anchored by the Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, for an evening of original compositions that moves between classical orchestration, rock and jazz.
The programme spans NOR.BE's own catalogue alongside a classical repertoire that includes Bizet's Carmen Overture, Arturo Márquez's Danzón No. 2 and a Leonard Bernstein mambo, before closing on a traditional Tunisian piece performed as a tribute to the host culture. The setlist marks the first time the compositions have been performed in Tunisia.
The concert is a single date. Tickets are 40 TND and available through Teskerti at teskerti.tn/evenement/norbe. Capacity is limited to around 3,000 in keeping with the site's constraints.
The Théâtre Romain de Dougga sits within the archaeological site of Dougga in the Béja governorate, roughly 110 km south-west of Tunis. The site has held UNESCO World Heritage status since 1997 and is considered one of the best-preserved Roman towns in North Africa. The theatre, which dates to the second century, provides the setting for the Festival de Dougga each summer.
