Sami Yusuf brings a career of spiritual music to Carthage for the first time
British singer Sami Yusuf, whose devotional music has sold more than 34 million albums worldwide, makes his first appearance at the Festival International de Carthage on Saturday 1 August at 22:00 at the ancient Roman theatre.

Yusuf is a British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Tehran to Azerbaijani parents and raised in west London, where he studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music. His work draws on Sufi, folk and Western classical traditions, performed across Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Urdu and English — sometimes within a single piece. Time magazine has called him Islam's biggest rock star; he has sold more than 34 million albums.
No specific setlist has been announced. The concert is billed as an evening of spiritual music and is expected to run approximately two hours.
