Technical glitch suspends opening of Tunis Stock Exchange on Monday morning

A technical incident suspended the opening of the Tunis Stock Exchange on Monday 29 June, halting trading at the start of what would otherwise have been the first session of the final week of the first half of 2026.
The Bourse des Valeurs Mobilières de Tunis (BVMT) said its technical teams were working to restore normal operations as quickly as possible, financial news portal Tustex reported. The exchange said the resumption time for trading would be communicated once confirmed.
No cause was given for the incident. The BVMT did not publish a rescheduled opening time as of mid-morning on Monday.
It is not the first time a technical fault has disrupted trading in Tunis. In June 2023, a comparable incident pushed the pre-opening phase back by 45 minutes and delayed the open itself by 90 minutes; the exchange said at the time that normal hours would resume the following day.
The disruption comes during an extended rally for Tunisia's benchmark index. The Tunindex has repeatedly set record highs in recent months, approaching the 19,000-point level in the weeks before the end of June, supported by strong trading volumes.
