Tunisia: Foreign Currency Inflows Reach 7.8 Billion Dinars Thanks to Transfers from Tunisians Abroad and Tourism
Transfers from Tunisians residing abroad and tourism revenues continue to support Tunisia’s foreign currency reserves. According to the latest indicators from the Central Bank of Tunisia, these two sources generated nearly 7.8 billion dinars by the end of June 2026

Data published by the Central Bank of Tunisia, as of June 30, 2026, show a further increase in transfers from Tunisians living abroad, which remain the country’s leading source of foreign currency.
By the end of the first half of the year, these transfers reached 4.4 billion dinars, compared with 4.19 billion dinars one year earlier, confirming the growing contribution of the diaspora to financing the national economy.
Tourism Revenues Continue to Trend Upward
The tourism sector also continues to generate foreign currency inflows, although growth has been more moderate.
By the end of June 2026, tourism revenues reached 3.35 billion dinars, compared with 3.21 billion dinars during the same period in 2025, representing a 4.39 percent increase since the beginning of the year.
More Than 7.7 Billion Dinars Mobilised in Six Months
Combined, transfers from Tunisians abroad and tourism revenues totalled 7.76 billion dinars during the first six months of 2026, compared with 7.41 billion dinars one year earlier.
This represents a 4.74 percent increase and highlights the importance of these two sectors in supporting Tunisia’s external financial balances.
For comparison, transfers from Tunisians abroad and tourism revenues generated 16.86 billion dinars over the whole of 2025, compared with 15.86 billion dinars in 2024, an annual increase of 996.2 million dinars, or 6.28 percent.
