Weather forecast for Friday 03 July: partly cloudy in the north with a warm, settled interior

Friday 03 July brings a divided picture across Tunisia: a cloudy and locally unsettled north coast, a warmer and mostly clear centre and south, and sea conditions remaining slight along all coasts.

In Tunis, skies should be partly cloudy through much of the day, with cloud cover thickening slightly into the afternoon before easing in the evening. Temperatures are expected to rise to around 30C by midday, ease to around 29C by mid-afternoon, and fall towards 25C by late evening. North-westerly winds could reach around 22 km/h.

Along the northern coast, Bizerte carries the most notable weather of the day. Heavy cloud cover through the morning and afternoon brings a rain probability of around 63 percent, so residents and visitors in the area should be prepared for showers. North-westerly winds could reach around 26 km/h. Tabarka, further west, is also cloudy with a rain chance of around 30 percent and winds gusting to around 28 km/h.

On the east coast, Sousse should see a largely clear morning before clouds build in the afternoon, with a peak of around 32C around midday. Sfax is forecast to be cloudier in the morning but clearing well by afternoon, with temperatures reaching around 34C by mid-afternoon.

Inland and in the south, conditions are hot and largely clear. Kairouan could reach around 35C by mid-afternoon under mostly clear skies, while Tozeur is forecast to be the warmest location in the country, with temperatures reaching around 37C through the afternoon and evening, driven by a north-easterly wind of around 27 km/h.

Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight on both the Gulf of Tunis and the Gulf of Hammamet, which should keep coastal conditions manageable for swimmers and boaters along the north and east coasts.
