Weather forecast for Monday 29 June: mostly sunny with intense inland heat

Monday 29 June is forecast to bring long spells of sunshine across most of Tunisia, with very little chance of rain and the highest temperatures expected across the country's interior and south-west. Light cloud may develop locally during the afternoon, but dry conditions should prevail.

In Tunis, temperatures are forecast to reach around 36C under sunny skies before easing during the evening. Bizerte and Tabarka should also remain largely sunny, with afternoon temperatures around 33C to 35C and light to moderate north-easterly winds generally around 15 to 20km/h. Rain is not expected.

Along the east coast, Sousse should remain sunny with temperatures close to 35C. Sfax is forecast to stay dry and mostly sunny with highs around 34C. Coastal breezes should help keep conditions slightly more comfortable than inland locations.

The strongest heat is expected inland. Kairouan could approach 39C during the afternoon, while Tozeur may also reach around 39C under clear skies. Djerba is forecast to remain mostly sunny, with temperatures around 32C and only light cloud at times.

Marine conditions should remain favourable. The Gulf of Tunis and the north coast are forecast to see light north-easterly winds of around 15 to 20km/h with smooth to slight seas. Similar conditions are expected across the Gulf of Hammamet and the east coast, where seas should remain slight and suitable for most coastal activities.
