Weather forecast for Saturday 4 July: warm and mostly clear with cloud lingering in the north west

Saturday 4 July brings warm, mostly settled conditions across Tunisia, with the clearest skies over the east coast and south and the heaviest cloud cover concentrated in the north west.

In Tunis, temperatures are expected to rise to around 33C through midday and early afternoon before easing to around 30C by early evening and around 26C at night. Cloud cover should be moderate through the morning and thin noticeably by evening, with rain chances negligible at around 3 percent.

Along the east coast, Sousse should reach around 31C under largely clear skies by afternoon, with cloud clearing completely by midday. Sfax is forecast to reach a similar peak of around 33C, with some cloud building in the afternoon before clearing sharply by evening.

The hottest conditions are expected inland and to the south. Kairouan could reach around 36C in the mid-afternoon, with cloud building through the afternoon to around 57 percent cover. Tozeur is forecast to be the warmest city on the day, with temperatures climbing through the afternoon to around 37C by early evening under mostly clear skies.

In the north west, Tabarka will be cooler, reaching around 28C, but cloud cover is expected to remain around 50 percent throughout the day, with a small chance of rain of around 5 percent.

Winds will be north-westerly in the capital and along the north coast, reaching up to around 25 kilometres per hour in Bizerte, and north-easterly along the east coast and in the south, with gusts of up to around 26 kilometres per hour in Tozeur. Winds should be light to moderate elsewhere.

Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight across both the Gulf of Tunis and the Gulf of Hammamet, with wave heights expected to stay well under one metre, keeping conditions calm along the coast.
