Weather forecast for Sunday 28 June: mostly sunny skies and inland heat across Tunisia

Sunday 28 June brings long sunny spells across most of Tunisia, with the hottest conditions expected across the interior and south-west during the afternoon.

In Tunis, conditions should stay mostly sunny through the afternoon, with temperatures around 34C early in the afternoon before easing to about 30C by early evening and around 25C later at night. Bizerte and Tabarka should also remain hot, with afternoon temperatures around 33C to 34C before clearer and cooler conditions return in the evening.

Along the east coast, Sousse is forecast to stay sunny, reaching around 33C in the afternoon before falling to about 29C by early evening. Sfax should remain sunny to mostly sunny, with temperatures close to 32C through the afternoon and around 28C later in the evening.

The strongest heat will be inland. Kairouan could reach around 39C in the mid-afternoon, with some cloud passages possible before skies clear again later in the day. Tozeur is also forecast to reach around 39C, with sunny conditions continuing through the afternoon and temperatures still around 36C by early evening.

In the south-east, Djerba should remain mostly sunny, with temperatures around 31C to 32C during the afternoon and clearer skies later in the evening.

Marine conditions look manageable. Around Tunis, the sea is forecast to remain smooth with light north-easterly winds. Around Hammamet, conditions are also expected to remain smooth to slight, with no gale warning and clear skies later in the day.
