Weather forecast for Tuesday 07 July: sunny and hot with morning cloud clearing quickly
Tunisia wakes to patchy morning cloud on Tuesday that clears rapidly across most of the country, giving way to intense sunshine and peak temperatures around 38C inland while the coasts stay more comfortable under light to moderate winds.
Tuesday 07 July brings largely clear and hot conditions across Tunisia, with any morning cloud dissipating well before midday to leave most regions under strong sunshine through the afternoon.
In Tunis, temperatures should rise to around 34C by midday before easing to around 31C by mid-afternoon and falling further to around 29C by early evening and around 25C overnight. Skies will be mostly clear from late morning onward, with a light north-easterly breeze reaching up to around 16 km/h keeping conditions relatively comfortable along the capital's seafront.
Along the east coast, Sousse could see some heavier morning cloud before skies open up sharply through the afternoon, with temperatures reaching around 34C. Winds there will be light south-easterly at up to around 16 km/h.
The hottest conditions are expected inland, where Kairouan could reach around 38C by mid-afternoon, remaining around 37C through the early evening. Tozeur in the south-west may peak at around 37C in the afternoon, with easterly winds reaching up to around 22 km/h making it the breeziest of the southern stations. Morning cloud at both interior cities should clear to largely sunny skies by midday.
Winds across the north and north-west will be north to north-westerly, reaching up to around 21 km/h at Bizerte. Elsewhere, winds are generally light to moderate. No rainfall is expected anywhere in the country.
Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight along both the northern and eastern coasts, with wave heights well under one metre, which should keep conditions calm and manageable for swimmers and vessels throughout the day.
