Weather forecast for Tuesday 30 June: warm and mostly clear with some cloud building inland

Tuesday 30 June brings warm to hot conditions across Tunisia, with the sharpest heat concentrated inland and in the south-west while the coasts remain more comfortable under light winds.

In Tunis, temperatures are expected to rise to around 35C around midday before easing to around 34C by mid-afternoon and falling gradually to around 31C by early evening and around 28C at night. The morning should be largely clear, with cloud cover building to around a quarter of the sky through the afternoon and evening.

Along the east coast, Sousse could reach around 32C in the early afternoon under an easterly breeze of up to around 17 km/h, with cloud clearing through the day after a cloudier morning. Sfax is forecast to peak at around 34C, with notably cloudy conditions persisting into the evening.

Inland, Kairouan is expected to be the hottest central city, with temperatures climbing to around 38C by mid-afternoon. Tozeur in the south-west could reach around 39C by late afternoon, remaining warm at around 38C into early evening. Both cities carry a rain probability of around 28 to 30 percent, and brief showers remain possible where heavier cloud develops, particularly over the interior.

Winds will be northerly in Tunis and Kairouan, northerly in Djerba, and north-westerly along the northern coast from Bizerte and Tabarka. The south-east will see south-easterly winds in Tozeur, with speeds generally light to moderate across the country, reaching up to around 23 km/h near Bizerte.

Sea conditions in the Gulf of Tunis and the Gulf of Hammamet are forecast to remain slight, with wave heights expected to stay around 0.5 m, keeping conditions manageable along the coast.
