Yasmine Hamdan at the 60th Festival International de Hammamet

Lebanese singer and songwriter Yasmine Hamdan takes the stage at the Amphithéâtre du Centre Culturel International de Hammamet on Monday 13 July as part of the 60th Festival International de Hammamet. No start time is listed by the festival; check the event page for any update closer to the date.

Hamdan first came to prominence in the late 1990s as co-founder of the Beirut electro-indie duo Soapkills. Based in Paris since 2005, she developed the Y.A.S project with producer Mirwais before establishing a solo international career. Her albums Ya Nass and El Jamilat brought her wider recognition, and she has collaborated with filmmakers Elia Suleiman and Jim Jarmusch. Her third solo record, I Remember I Forget, was released in September 2025 and is expected to feature in the set.

Her work sits at the intersection of Oriental sonorities and electronic production, with recurring themes of identity, memory and belonging. She is one of six Lebanese artists on the festival's 32-show programme, which runs from 11 July to 13 August and draws performers from 12 countries.
