Tunisia's Agence nationale pour la maîtrise de l'énergie says Sidi Bouzid is set to surpass total renewable electricity self-sufficiency, with more than 400 MW of installed and planned capacity against local demand of around 350 MW, in a model the agency wants replicated across the country.

The World Bank Group's political-risk insurer has issued a 20-year guarantee to the Aeolus-Scatec joint venture for a 100 MW photovoltaic plant in Mezzouna, MIGA's fourth solar independent power producer project in Tunisia and the first under the country's second concession round.
